Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I know if my stair or ramp needs to be code compliant? A: We suggest that you always contact your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) regarding code requirements. For example, construction trailers may require OSHA compliance; whereas modular office buildings might require building code and life safety code compliance. In either case, Architectural Metals has the right product for your project.
Q: What information is needed to accurately determine my stair or ramp needs?
A: Please refer to the Site Information Checklist (found on our ramp page) that itemizes information necessary to quantify your projects needs. If you should have any questions, our knowledgeable staff will be pleased to assist with your specific project.
Q: Do you offer engineered drawings for permit acquisition? A: Our product is fully engineered to comply with today’s stringent building codes and drawings are available for use in acquiring local building permits, if requested.
Q: Can I paint the aluminum if I don’t want the silver appearance? A: Yes, aluminum can be painted. However, it is recommended that the customer consider the “optional” powdercoated finish available in a variety of colors if this is the desired look. Powdercoating is a “baked” finish that offers both color fastness and durability when applied to the aluminum.
Q: Can you product be shipped to my facility up north? A: Our product can be packaged and delivered to anywhere in the continental United States for an additional cost. Our experience has been that freight rates from our SW Florida location are economical as the freight lines are looking for ways to fill the load as they return to the Northern cities.
Q: How quickly can I expect to receive my order? A: We stand committed to delivering our product within 7-10 days of a received order. Our inventory of standard product often allows for next day shipment. Custom designs may require additional time. |
